I went for dinner with a friend here, ordered Cream crab and Sweet and Sour Beef. Both delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant. I order take out here all the time.
Found out on the menu that the restaurant name is the name of Dr. Sun Zhong Shan’s home town. Dr. Sun Zhong Shan is the father of modern China, and leader of the Gui Mein Dang party. This is a tribute to that.
I’ve been to this event before and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Please come out and support multicultural art performance. You get a discount as a Social Butterfly Club member… so call now.

Inspired by 5000 years of history, this bilingual show will take audiences from the brilliance of the glory days of ancient China to the present day. A landscape of beautiful large-scale dancing, legendary characters, thundering drums, regal music, stunning costumes, and innovative choreography will transport audiences to distant realms of splendor through myths and legends, spectacle and variety.
The choreographers of this show weave legendary stories of ancient China and stories in reality into dance dramas. The show reflects not only the beauty of mysterious ancient China, but also appraises good characters of human beings, like virtue, courage, conscience, kindness, loyalty, respect and tolerance.
Havana Restaurant is a Vancouverite’s secret Cuban retreat and a must stop by place on Commercial Drive. The first date with Trevor Scarfo was at Havana and I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe. Of course, this was 5 years ago.

I finally met Julie Connally, the general manager of Canvas Lounge at Buffet Blowout. She is a real pretty blonde, who got a Political Science degree from Concordia, but a Vancouverite, with a dad who has a passion for music. I really enjoyed hearing her story of a down and out waitress, turned receptionist, turned Corporate sales manager of Commodore, then owner of Carte Blanche Events! I really admire female enterpreneurs who go after their dreams, and like most people who get into Special Events industry, we fall into it due to our passion.
They have an art event on May 12th, which offers 1 free glass of wine, and complimentary appies… I know my Social Butterfly Club members would love that. So win win! You can check them out at www.canvaslounge.ca What a cool venue! Since Julie got there, it seems all the biggest parties are going there now.
